Gwdihw Goody Hoo Balms - Review

Gwdihw, pounced goody hoo, is the welsh word for owl. The owl is a sign of wisdom and these balms use traditional methods and herbs to create soothing and healing products.

The balms are housed in little metal tins, similar to that of Vaseline. The labels are really funky and cute with bright colours and little owl characters. The tins each contain 25g of product.

Orange & Lemon Lip Balm Smoochy Lips £4.49*

Firstly a traditional lip balm! What strikes me about these balms is the ingredients list. Each only contains a few ingredients, mainly natural and nothing unknown or scary sounding. This is a beeswax based balm which claims to have a higher melting point meaning it's suitable for taking on holidays. This has a lovely scent and reminds me of a hot drink I would make for myself if I had a cold! A lovely soothing smell for the cold winter weather. On the lips it has the texture of Vaseline but does seem to sink into the lips more, making it very hydrating.

Hand Balm Nail Wizard £4.49*

Again this balm has few ingredients and contains both coconut and olive oil. This is a very thick balm, different in texture to the lipbalm and almost like a very refrigated butter. To use this balm you simply take a little on your fingertips then rub it into the cuticle and around the nail. This has a lovely smell, much nicer than any other cuticle oil I have used. I like that this is a balm because I often find oils messy to use and too slippery on my fingertips.

Magic Muscle Rub £4.49*

This balm is to sooth aching or tired joints. It has a girgeous smell, very similar to tiger balm. This balm is the hardest by far. When you rub your finger over the top you get a light layer but the surface is not marked. This would be lovely to use for a massage after a long and tiring day! Again the ingredients are few and all natural.

These balms are really lovely. The packaging is handy and cute and allows for easy application. The balms smell gorgeous and boast really natural ingredients.
