Glossybox November 2013 - The Glossy Wishlist

With last weeks Glossybox being so awful, I really hoped that they would up their game for this month. I have to say that they have. Although no where near the best box I have had, this has some exciting products and some decent sized items too.

Vichy Idealio Life Serum - 3x3ml samples
This seems to be something that every box contains and was released on the website as a spoiler. I have heard good things about this serum so I look forward to trying it. 3ml is a small sample but with 3 of these and a cute little bag, this is a decent looking sample.

Yves Rocher France Hand Cream - Full Size worth £1.95
Words can not describe how nice this smells. I literally can't stop smelling my hands after application! This smells like chocolate orange but in a nice way, not a sickly way! Although not an expensive product, this is full size and I always need another hand cream!

Elegant Touch Rapid Dey for Nails - Full Size worth £3
I have seen this before and wanted to try it so I am happy to get this in my box. Again this isn't a luxury product but it is full size.

Emite Make Up Micronized Eyeshadow - Full Size worth £16.80
This eyeshadow really interests me. Firstly it's not a brand I have used but by the price tag I am guessing this is a high end company! The eyeshadow is in black which is always handy for a smokey eye. The texture of this shadow is very strange and feels more like a gel liner!

B. Nail Polish - Full Size worth £4.99
I don't wear nail polish and this isn't a particularly nice colour anyway! I will likely give this away or maybe use it on my toes!

Did you enjoy this months box?

  2. They've really redeemed themselves this month haven't they? I was going to cancel after this month and just use my dots to get a free one but I've loved my products! I got a pale eyeshadow that's a bit crap and you'd have to be mad to pay £16.80 for a single eyeshadow from a brand that nobody has ever heard of, but I'm sure I'll get use of it! :)

  3. I am super pleased it's a box that DOESN'T contain a perfume sample! My nail polish was a gold glitter which I can't wait to wear over christmas... The shade you got will be fab come spring!

    1. Mine did - yep a whole £1.125 worth of something called Kukui... oh deep joy. That was in place of the nail polish some people received.

  5. 3 x vichy creams £7
    1 x nail polish remover pads £2
    1 x eyeshadow £16.80
    1 x raspberry handcream £2.95
    1 x perfume sample £1.125

Hmmn, the raspberry handcream is wash off vile (in my opinion), especially when you realise others got orange or pistachio. The Vichy is highly perfumed. The perfume sample is something else. I really wonder if they operate a multi tier system depending upon age and whether you are a blogger or not. I feel after several months of subscribing to this that I am getting the left overs and I suspect it's down to age and whether or not you are part of the blogger community. What particularly irks me is that last month's magazine had reviews of products that I doubt any of us are likely to receive as sample sizes let alone full sized! To me I now visualise those at Glossy Towers behaving like Patsy and Edina quaffing their champagne whilst playing with products and then sending us the cheaper alternatives. One would think if they had this buying power and indeed PR power that companies would be falling over themselves to push their products wouldn't you? To me the £120 I will now save will go towards something a little more useful and enjoyable. Subscribe as and when but remember the contents of your box will most likely vary from those advertised on blogs.

    1. I wasn't a blogger when I joined and I have never linked myself as a blogger to my glossy profile. I don't use my name in blogging so I don't think they could possibly know that I am a blogger.

    2. Well, I've just had a nose about on the Internet and found this blogger's comments. http://www.carolinexo.com/2012/09/september-glossybox-review-verdict.html

I feel deeply disappointed that we seem to get a tiered structure depending upon when the parcel gets sent out. OK, we are paying £12.95 a month and so if we got £12.95 worth of things I wouldn't be that bad but to read that some are getting almost £40 worth of items and others half that it seems very unjust. Perhaps I seem terrifically ungrateful and jealous but it isn't that, it simply that I feel like I am subsidising others and getting things which are afterthoughts. I seem to be one of the demographic they don't want, that's fine I'll spend my money elsewhere.
