L'Oreal Paris Nude Maguique BB Powder - Review

Like most bloggers I am slightly obsessed with Boots. I cannot walk in there and come out with just the items that I went in for! I also can't resist an offer. Occasionally I buy something, get it home then think, 'why did I buy this?!' This purchase is a good example of that!

The Nude Magique BB Powder retails at £6.99. I am not entirely sure how many shades are available but it is not many, maybe 3. I am fairly pale skinned and chose my powder in the medium shade.

The powder claims to adjust to your skin type and create a matte finish that lasts up to 8 hours. The product is marketed as 5 in 1: light coverage, velvet feel, 8 hour non drying mattifying finish, shine free and fresh looking skin.

What attracted me to buying this when I really don't need it was the gorgeous packaging. The compact is really shiny, sturdy feeling and fairly thick for a powder.

Mirror and sponge of L'Oreal Paris Nude Maqique BB Powder

This is a double compact. The top opens to reveal the powder and the bottom has a mirror and a sponge. I like that the mirror is separate from the powder as this stops it from becoming dirty. The sponge is lovely and very thick. It has the texture of a foundation sponge rather than a puff or pad.

I don't wear BB cream. Personally I am not a light coverage fan and prefer the look of a whole face of foundation. For that reason I am unlikely to wear a powder on its own, no matter how clear my skin is! When I got this home, I realised that it wasn't for me and so began using it in a way that it may work for me.

The texture of this powder is gorgeous. It's very fine and has a lovely velvety feel. I use the sponge to apply it rather than a powder brush because it applies more evenly and smooths over the skin. I have been using this over a thin layer of foundation in the morning and then using it later in the day to touch up my face.

The powder doesn't cling to areas and isn't drying on my skin. It leaves a gorgeous matte finish and lasts a long time. I use this later in the afternoon and find that it really revitalises my foundation, making it last the whole day.

If you like a natural look then this would be a good product for you. For me though, it's a handy compact for my handbag to touch up my face but I don't think I will repurchase in the future.

  1. I've never tried the L'Oréal powders but it sounds like a great product. I've got the Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot right now and it's amazing! Xx
